You’ve heard that leaders read and readers lead. It’s an old axiom that’s as true today as it was when it was first spoken. What’s different today is that you can more easily share all the great content you’re consuming if you switch to an eReader like a Kindle, iPad or similar device.
If you want to immediately become a more effective leader, make the switch and begin sharing liberally.
I, like most of you, use so much technology that it’s therapeutic to feel paper fibers on my finger tips, to hear the satisfying wisps of pages flipping and to inhale the aroma only a well aged book provides. While it was hard to give this break from technology up, I’ve never looked back because of how an eReader has made me a better leader.
With an eReader, you can effortlessly highlight and comment as you read and either share quotes or musings real time via twitter or, more importantly, share collected highlights or notes with others. Amazon makes this extremely easy with the Kindle by providing you with a unique website where all your highlights and notes are stored and organized. It’s easy to cut and paste into a document, presentation or email or print to a pdf or equivalent to share with others.
By being able to effortlessly recall highlights and notes, you multiply the value and impact of your reading for yourself and others. First, you’ll remember more about what you read because going back to review your highlights and notes will be easier than ever. Second, you can better lead and equip your team by quickly and effortlessly sharing the same content that expanded your knowledge or spurred you to consider new ideas.
There aren’t a lot of things you can easily do to become a better leader overnight, but this is one of them. Read more, remember more, share more and lead more.

Seems like a very solid piece of hardware. I look forward to getting my own Kindle soon. =)
You’ll love it. It’s now hard for me to want to read a book that isn’t on the kindle.
I told my boss to get Kindles for in-office usage a while ago…too bad he didnt take my advice, but ill bring it up later down the road. Some of our own clients have started using Kindle for professional sharing
